MobiLaps LLC selected by the Open Geospatial Consortium
(OGC) to join the Interoperability Program Pool
Support for the
engineering and management of OGC Interoperability Program initiatives

Spring, MD – MobiLaps LLC was selected by the Open
Geospatial Consortium (OGC)
to join the Interoperability Program (IP) Pool. The IP Pool competitive solicitation
called for independent consultants in
the field of geospatial interoperability, consensus-building and project
management to support future OGC IP activities. Such activities include test
beds, pilot projects, prototyping efforts and interoperability experiments. As a
member of the IP Pool, MobiLaps pre-qualifies to
provide services to the OGC in the areas of testbed architecture
and management, integration of geoprocessing
technologies with mainstream IT and maturation/advancement of the geoprocessing and location technologies marketplace.
MobiLaps has been a strong
supporter of the OGC and has been contributing to the success and growth of the
IP program through the direct leadership and participation of Dr. Alameh in the
following initiatives:

1.2 as the task lead for the UDDI/SOAP/WSDL emerging technologies experiment and
GML topology investigations.

CIPI
2 as the chief architect for designing standards-based systems for collection
and dissemination of US census data.

OWS
2 as the thread architect for the Information interoperability and GeoScout tasks focused on the use of the Geography Markup
Language (GML) for encoding and transferring National Geospatial Intelligence
Agency (NGA) and United States Geological Survey (USGS) data.

3 as the NASA sponsor representative.
Dr.
Alameh has long been an active proponent of geospatial standards and their role
in the architecture and growth of Geospatial Information Systems (GIS). For her
unique expertise in interoperable geospatial web services, Dr. Alameh was
recognized by the Department of Homeland Security Immigration Services as being
an individual of “Extraordinary Ability” and was granted permanent
residence in the
