ISP-Centric Enhancement of Web content and Services

We believe the ISP is in a unique position to enhance web content and services delivered to web users. First, all web traffic flows through it. Second, the web-user through its direct relationship with the ISP entrusts the ISP with personal information that it would not to the myriad of content providers.

Our Mission: Empowreing ISPs to enhance the value of web content and services to end-users.

MobiLaps Networks builds inline network appliances that can be used by ISPs to enhance the web content and web services downloaded by the end-users. This enhancement is based on the personal and contextual information that the end-user has entrusted with the ISP including the end-user's location. Such information can greatly enhance a web service or content. Yet the web-user would not want to share that information with the myriad of content providers. With the openness of the Internet, there has been an increasing realization of privacy concerns, with people being increasingly wary of disclosing personal information.

An acceptable solution would be to deligate the value-adding customization of the content to the ISP, with the ISP employing anonymization algorithms/techniques/mechanisms to protect the privacy of the end-user.

The first commercial application of MobiLaps Networks is a socially beneficial one: Web-based emergency alerts. If an end-user happens to be in an affected area then they will get an alert in the form of an interstitial web-page while they are browsing the web.
