About Us

Founded in 2004 by two MIT alums, MobiLaps LLC is a woman-owned small business committed to providing subject-matter expertise to senior management to help them solve complex technical and strategic problems. MobiLaps LLC specializes in two high-demand technical areas: wireless telecommunications and geospatial interoperability solutions.

  • MobiLaps’ Wireless Engineering Services Division is headed by Dr. Hisham Kassab, who has extensive IT experience in general and wireless communications experience in particular.Previously, Dr. Kassab worked for Booz-Allen & Hamilton.

    For his clients, Dr. Kassab has performed financial analysis, market analysis and assessment of strategic-technological alignment. He has helped clients on a wide-range of projects including formulating MVNO strategy for a mobile operator, exploring pros/cons of banking/telecom partnerships, studying the threats and opportunities posed by Wi-Fi to cellular carriers, and deploying customer care and billing system for a large telecommunications company.

    Dr. Kassab received his B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, and his M.S. degree in Operations Research from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. His Ph.D. research at MIT was in the field of wireless communications.

  • MobiLaps’ GIS Interoperability Solutions Division is headed by Dr. Nadine Alameh, an expert and leader in the field of geospatial interoperability. For her unique expertise in that field, Dr. Alameh was awarded the status of “Individual of Extraordinary Ability” by the Department of Homeland Security Immigration Services, and was granted permanent residence in the US based on that classification. Dr. Alameh’s most recent projects include leading the design and implementation of FEMA’s Multi-hazard Information Platform Geospatial Interoperability Framework, and managing the architecture effort of the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) Web Services Geospatial Decisions Support thread.

    Dr. Alameh holds two M.S. degrees and a Ph.D. in Computer and Information Systems Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Her Ph.D. research at MIT was about scalable and extensible infrastructures for distributing geographic information services.
