Silver Spring, MD – MobiLaps LLC was selected by the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) to join the Interoperability Program (IP) Pool. The IP Pool competitive solicitation called for independent consultants in the field of geospatial interoperability, consensus-building and project management to support future OGC IP activities. Such activities include test beds, pilot projects, prototyping efforts and interoperability experiments. As a member of the IP Pool, MobiLaps pre-qualifies to provide services to the OGC in the areas of testbed architecture and management, integration of geoprocessing technologies with mainstream IT and maturation/advancement of the geoprocessing and location technologies marketplace.
MobiLaps has been a strong supporter of the OGC and has been contributing to the success and growth of the IP program through the direct leadership and participation of Dr. Nadine A. Kassab in the following initiatives: |

Nadine has long been an active proponent of geospatial standards and their role in the architecture and growth of Geospatial Information Systems (GIS). For her unique expertise in interoperable geospatial web services, Nadine was recognized by the Department of Homeland Security Immigration Services as being an individual of “Extraordinary Ability” and was granted permanent residence in the US based on that classification. As a strong advocate of geospatial standards, Nadine has developed and conducted (in local and international venues) various professional workshops on geospatial interoperability. She has also published a series of articles on that topic in academic and industry journals such as IEEE Internet Computing and Photogrammetric Engineering & Remote Sensing. Nadine’s current contract with NASA involves supporting the NASA Geosciences Interoperability Office (GIO) in its mission of identifying interoperability requirements, developing geospatial interoperability architectures and standards, and implementing policy and processes related to data and system interoperability as applicable to NASA. Prior to that, Nadine led the design and implementation of FEMA’s Multi-hazard Information Platform Geospatial Interoperability Framework. Nadine is an active participant in several professional organizations such as IEEE, GITA and URISA. She holds two MS degrees and a PhD in Computer and Information Systems from MIT.
